Russia Affirms No Deployment of Drones Against European Countries
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, has publicly assured the international community that Russia has never targeted or sent unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or missiles toward the territories of European Union countries and NATO members.
According to his statements at the United Nations General Assembly and subsequent press briefings, Moscow categorically denies any intentions to attack civilian targets or violate the airspace of other nations in the region.
Lavrov emphasized that instances of drones entering the airspace of NATO and EU countries are either accidental incidents or provocations initiated from within or improper use of private drone operators.
Meanwhile, he warned that any threats or attempts to use force against Russia would be met with a decisive response.
Since early September, numerous drones have penetrated Polish and Ukrainian airspace — some advancing nearly 300 kilometers into Polish territory — prompting the creation of joint operational groups by Ukrainian and Polish forces to counter these threats.
Other European countries, such as Denmark and Norway, have also suspended airport operations temporarily due to sightings of unidentified drones in their skies.
