In Italy, a devastating natural event has led to a tragic situation: a powerful storm, triggered by sudden gusts of wind and unexpected heavy rains, resulted in the death of a woman. This is not the first incident of its kind this autumn, as the country has been grappling with the effects of extreme weather conditions that threaten infrastructure and public safety. Specifically, near Milan, the storm caused a fatal incident — in the town of Robecchetto-Con-Induno, a 63-year-old woman died after being hit by a falling tree while returning from a walk. Two other people were injured and hospitalized. According to rescuers, over 50 emergency situations related to the storm have already been addressed, and 37 cases remain unresolved. Most calls involved fallen trees, flooded basements and taverns, and damage to advertising signs caused by strong gusts. Furthermore, Italian news agency Ansa reports that heavy rains also hit the eastern Veneto region, leading to floods and fallen trees in areas around Belluno and Vicenza, as well as parts of Tuscany. Meanwhile, in the southern part of Italy, especially in Rome, temperatures remain high, around 30°C, as residents adapt to rapidly changing climatic conditions. Overall, early summer heatwaves are affecting much of Europe, resulting in at least eight fatalities and posing threats to thousands across the continent. The topic of extreme weather is becoming increasingly urgent, emphasizing the need for preparedness and swift response to climate challenges.
