Ukrainian Defenders Hold the Line: Over 130 Battles in a Day Amid Large-Scale Enemy Attacks
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have resumed active operations on the eastern front, where recent days have seen significant intensification of hostilities. According to the General Staff, in the period from early July 4 until now, more than 130 clashes have been recorded, indicating heightened tension and high activity of Russian occupying forces. A substantial number of confrontations are taking place on the Pokrovsk direction, with both sides engaged in 42 separate skirmishes. Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to employ heavy weaponry in their offensive and defensive maneuvers. Official reports state that during the day, four missile strikes and fifty-five airstrikes were carried out, involving the launch of 15 rockets and the dropping of 74 guided bombs. Additionally, the enemy deployed 1436 kamikaze drones and launched nearly 4,500 artillery and mortar rounds at Ukrainian positions and populated areas. This demonstrates a massive tactic aimed at exhausting and destabilizing the rear regions. On the northern and eastern sectors, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled 12 attacks, particularly on the Pivniy Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, with ongoing efforts in this zone. In the south, the enemy attempted eight assaults on Ukrainian positions in Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Zelene, Kameyanka, and toward Kutkivka, but all were thwarted by Ukrainian defenders. Similarly, on the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian forces halted multiple offensive actions by the aggressor in the areas of Golubivka, Zahryzove, and Zelenyi Hai. The Lyman sector continues to see intense fighting, with over 20 attacks launched by Russian forces in areas including Nadiya, Hrekivka, Karpivka, Ridkodub, Zelenaya Dolina, Torskoye, Dіbrova, and the direction of Hryhorivka. Nevertheless, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled four assaults on the Siversky direction, where the enemy was attempting to advance on the areas of Verkhnyokamianske and Viyemka. On the Toretsk sector, Russia attempted six times to breach Ukrainian defensive positions near Diliїvka and toward Rоманівка, Rusyn Yar, and Yablunivka, but all these attacks were repelled. On the Pokrovsky sector, the enemy attempted 42 breakthroughs since the start of the day, targeting areas in Poltavka, Novotoretske, Razino, Myrolubivka, Promin, Novoukrainka, Udačne, Novoserhiivka, Kotliarivka, and Oleksiivka. Similarly, on the Novopavlivske direction, the adversary launched 12 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Yalta, Zirka, Zaporizhzhia, Komaр, Voskresenka, and Shevchenko. Ukrainian forces continue their efforts on the Orikhiv direction, where the Russians made two attempts to advance near Kamyanske and Nоvoandriivka. On the Dnipro sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled three enemy attacks at the Antonivskyi Bridge, maintaining control of the situation and preventing further progression by the enemy.
