Dawn Drone and Missile Strike on ‘Kupol’ Plant in Izhevsk: Ukraine Continues Its High-Precision Attacks on Russian Military Targets
In the early hours of July 1, Ukrainian security services launched a significant operation targeting facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex. According to sources within the Security Service of Ukraine, several high-precision drones were directed at the 'Kupol' plant in Izhevsk, located in the Udmurt Republic. This enterprise, which has long been under international sanctions, is one of the main bases for producing air defense systems 'Tor' and 'Osa,' as well as a developer of strike drones called 'Garpia.' Intelligence indicates that the target was precisely selected, and the attack was executed with remarkable range — over 1,300 kilometers from Ukrainian positions to the target. Following the strike, a large fire broke out at the facility, leading to operational halts and damage to storage areas containing equipment and materials. This operation underscores Ukraine's capability to target strategic targets deep within Russia, sending a strong signal to Moscow. The 'Kupol' plant has been a frequent target for Ukrainian special operations because of its crucial role in manufacturing components for Russian air defense systems, which are widely exported and used in Russian military operations. This nighttime attack again demonstrates the high level of organization of Ukrainian forces and their ability to strike strategic objects at distances exceeding a thousand kilometers from Ukraine's borders.
