⚡ TRUMP IS COMING TO MOSCOW?! Trump and Putin’s Statements in Alaska (with Ukrainian translation)

Yanina Sokolova - 16 August 2025 08:06

Let's move on to the press conference. Our negotiations [music] took place in a constructive atmosphere of mutual respect. Our talks were also quite useful.

I also want to thank my American colleague for inviting me here to Alaska. And here our countries, although they are separated by an ocean, are close neighbors. So when I got off the plane and said: "Good evening, dear neighbors.

Very glad to see you. How are you? I think it's very neighborly. These are kind words that we can say to each other. There are only 4 km between the Russian island and the American island.

We are very close neighbors. And this is a fact. It is also important that Alaska has a common history between the USA and Russia. And there are still cultural consequences here, there are many Russian Orthodox churches, many names of Russian origin.

During World War II, it was in Alaska that the legendary highway for supplying equipment and aircraft began. It was a dangerous, difficult route over the icy expanse.

And the pilots of the two countries did everything to bring victory closer, risking their lives. And in the city of Magadan in Russia there is a monument to Russian and American pilots. I know that there is one here too.

And I know that there is the same monument here too. Soviet pilots Soviet pilots are buried in the cemetery here. I am grateful to the American authorities and citizens for their appreciation and care for him.

We will also always remember other historical examples when our countries together overcame common enemies and helped each other, supported each other. I think this will help us to continue building mutually beneficial equal relations, even in the most difficult conditions.

As you know, meetings between the United States and Russia at the highest levels have not been held for the past four years. And this was a very difficult period for our relations.

And this is not useful for either our countries or the world as a whole. Obviously, sooner or later this situation had to be corrected. And in this regard, a personal meeting of the heads of the two countries did come.

Of course, there was a lot of preparation for this. And President Trump and I have very good direct contacts. We have spoken on the phone more than once and sincerely.

The US special representative has visited Russia several times. Our assistants often contacted. And, as you know and understand, one of the central issues is the situation around Ukraine. We see that the US administration and Trump himself, they are trying to resolve this conflict and his desire to understand the essence of this conflict.

I did not talk about the problems with Ukraine, they are related to fundamental dangers to our security. But I have already said more than once that we consider the Ukrainian people to be fraternal.

We have the same roots and everything. what is happening to us is a tragedy and a great pain. Therefore, our country is sincerely interested in stopping this. But at the same time, we are convinced that for the settlement in Ukraine to be lasting, it is necessary to resolve the issues that we have talked about more than once.

and establish a fair balance in Europe. I agree with President Trump, he said about this today, that the security of Ukraine must be ensured. Of course, we are ready to work on this.

I would like to hope that the understanding that we have reached will bring the path to peace in Ukraine closer. We expect that in Kyiv and in European capitals this will be perceived in a constructive way, rather than making some provocations in order to disrupt the progress that we see.

By the way, with the arrival of the new US administration, our bilateral trade turnover has begun to improve. And we have many interesting areas for cooperation.

It is obvious that Russian-American partnerships, including business ones, have great potential. Russia has something to offer in the digital sphere, in trade and technology. Also cooperation in the Arctic and the restoration of contacts in the Far East and on the coast.

In general, it is important and necessary for our countries to turn the page. And symbolically, the date line runs not far from the US-Russia border. You can literally go from yesterday to tomorrow.

I hope that will be the case in our political sphere. I would also like to thank President Trump for the joint work and friendly mood and the mood for the result. It is obvious that he has a clear idea of what he wants and that he is really worried about the prosperity of his countries.

I expect that today's agreements will become the foundation not only for resolving the Ukrainian problem, but also for restoring business and pragmatic relations between Russia and the United States. And in conclusion, I want to say, I remember that in 2022, during my last contacts with the previous administration, I tried to convince my former American colleague that there was no need to bring the situation to a point where, after the offensive, there could be very serious consequences.

And I directly said then that this was a big mistake. President Trump. And today we hear Trump say that if I were president, there would be no war. And I think that it would really be so.

I confirm this because, in general, we have established very good and businesslike contact with President Trump. And I think that if we continue to move forward like this, we will be able to reach the end of the conflict in Ukraine.

Thank you for your attention. Thank you very much, Mr. President. That was a very profound thought. And I also want to say that I think that our meeting was productive.

We discussed a lot of important issues. We didn't completely agree on everything, but we took some steps. And I'll be on the phone with NATO soon, with various people I have to, definitely with President Zelensky.

And they have to agree that Marco, Steve and other wonderful people from the Trump administration. We also have John Radcliffe here. Thank you very much.

There are a lot of leaders here now, they are doing a wonderful job. And there are also representatives of the business community from Russia here. And we are looking forward to this all being over and we making progress today.

We have made some progress. I have always had a wonderful relationship with President Putin, with Vladimir. We had a lot of good and tough meetings.

And he understood everything. That issue with Russian interference was a little bit complicated, but he understood. And we knew that was the basis.

He knew it, we knew it, but we will have a good chance to do business when this is all over. So very soon I will start a series of phone calls, I will tell you that happened. Our meeting was very productive, we agreed on a lot.

There were some gaps. They are not very serious, although one was quite serious, but we have a very good chance that we are moving towards an understanding. I want to thank President Putin and his team.

I know many of them. And I often see your faces in the newspapers. You are almost as famous as your cha. We have had very good meetings, productive meetings in recent years.

And today was the most productive of them. We will stop the killing of thousands of people. And Putin wants to see this as much as I do. I want to thank you, Mr.

President, I will talk to you again soon and most likely we will see you again next time in Moscow. That is an interesting proposal.
