Chas Pravdy - 06 November 2025 00:34

On November 5th, a significant gathering took place in Kyiv, bringing together Patriarch Filaret, one of the most respected spiritual figures of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, and Metropolitan Epiphanius, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

This meeting symbolized unity and spiritual support for the Ukrainian people amidst challenging times of war, especially after the prolonged conflict stemming from the church’s autocephaly and the receipt of the Tomos.

The clergy discussed issues of church unity and the challenges posed by Russian aggression, culminating in a joint prayer for Ukraine’s victory over its invaders and the establishment of just peace.

Participants emphasized the importance of using the Ukrainian language in liturgical services, affirming it as a cornerstone of the church’s development and independence.

During the event, Patriarch Filaret received gratitude from Metropolitan Epiphanius in honor of the 25th anniversary of the consecration of St.

Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery.

The leaders also blessed those present, reaffirming their commitment to Ukraine’s independence and spiritual revival.
