Tusk Unveils Debris of Russian Drones After Night Attack in Poland

Chas Pravdy - 04 November 2025 01:37

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk released images showing wreckage of destroyed Russian drones, which were downed during a large-scale attack that occurred on the night of September 9-10.

The photographs display fragments of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles that fell onto Polish territory, symbolizing Poland’s firm stance on protecting its security.

Tusk, in his post on X platform, emphasized that every hostile drone daring to appear over Poland’s skies will end up discarded, underlining the country’s readiness and capability to defend its airspace.

Concurrently, there are reports of several drones observed over a Belgian NATO military base housing nuclear weapons, raising concerns about NATO’s security.

Tusk highlighted Poland’s ongoing investments — billions of zlotys — into modernizing its armed forces to bolster defense capabilities amid escalating threats from Russia.

During the attack, at least 19 Russian UAVs crossed Poland’s airspace, prompting the Polish military to use weapons to destroy them — a first in the nation’s history.

NATO responded to the incident by activating Article 4 of the alliance treaty, which involves collective consultations when territorial integrity is threatened.

Additionally, NATO launched the ‘Eastern Sentinel’ initiative to strengthen eastern flank defenses, including the deployment of land forces in eight countries, aimed at deterring potential Russian aggression.
