Zelensky Denies Existence of Agreed-Upon 12-Point Peace Plan
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky firmly dismisses reports about the existence of any coordinated and officially agreed peace plan between Ukraine and its international partners.
According to him, no document or agreement of this sort has been presented or ratified, and any ideas relating to conflict resolution should be developed with the participation of the United States.
Zelensky emphasized that as the head of state, he has not seen any project or plan that could be considered a common position on peace.
“It is important to clarify that I, as the President of Ukraine, have not seen such a plan.
That is essentially the answer to whether there is an agreed document.
There isn’t, and it seems like the diplomatic efforts should consider various opinions and proposals, including those from European countries and US allies,” he stated.
Furthermore, Zelensky expressed his surprise at reports claiming Russia’s involvement in negotiations based on this proposed plan.
“It is strange to hear that Russia is supposedly participating in negotiations, given that currently no European leader or US representative can force Russia to sit at the negotiating table,” the president added.
He stressed that any further steps toward peaceful resolution should occur with the support and involvement of the United States, as without their political and military backing, a diplomatic settlement remains highly unlikely.
Currently, work is underway among advisers and diplomats, but no concrete agreements or plans confirming their consensus have been made so far.
It is also worth recalling that earlier, reports indicated that European countries and Ukraine are working on a 12-point proposal to end the war, though it has not yet been officially approved or signed.
