Donald Trump highlights: U.S. possesses enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world over 150 times

Former U.S.

President Donald Trump made a startling statement, asserting that America possesses a nuclear arsenal sufficient to annihilate the world more than 150 times.

He emphasized that the United States holds the largest nuclear stockpile globally and intends to maintain this superiority, despite global trends toward armament reductions by other nations.

Trump discussed these issues with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, noting that each of these countries has substantial nuclear capabilities.

He expressed concern that the U.S.

is the only country not conducting nuclear tests, while Russia and China continue to do so regularly.

Trump argued that the U.S.

should resume nuclear testing to keep their deterrent effective, aiming to prevent other nations from monopolizing such demonstrations of force.

Notably, at the end of October, Trump tasked the Pentagon with initiating nuclear testing, which caused divisions in Congress—Republicans welcomed the move, viewing it as strengthening national security, while Democrats criticized it as dangerous and provocative.

This announcement comes amid Russian President Vladimir Putin’s boastful claims regarding the testing of the “Burevestnik” nuclear-powered missile, illustrating an ongoing arms race among nuclear powers.
