Donald Trump declares: I am not involved in frozen Russian assets or negotiations regarding their use

President Donald Trump has officially stated that he has no intention of participating in political or diplomatic debates concerning frozen Russian assets.
According to him, he is not focused on this issue and is not engaged in any negotiations about utilizing Russian assets as leverage or a bargaining chip.
In an interview broadcasted from the White House during a flight on Air Force One, Trump emphasized: “I am not involved in this.
I believe Europe and Russia are conducting negotiations.
I am not aware of these discussions and have no involvement in them.” These comments come amid ongoing discussions about the possible use of frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine, although Trump firmly stated he would not interfere in such matters.
It is worth recalling that on October 27, in Brussels, European Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho announced upcoming proposals regarding the closure of financial needs for Ukraine in 2026-2027, which would include options for utilizing frozen Russian assets.
However, plans for this policy faced opposition primarily from Polish and Slovak officials who oppose the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s support.
Final decisions on this matter are scheduled for December 2025, when the legal framework and necessary approvals will be made.
