Turkey plays a pivotal role in seeking peaceful resolution of Ukraine-Russia conflict

Chas Pravdy - 02 November 2025 11:17

Amid escalating tensions surrounding the war in Ukraine, Turkey positions itself as a crucial mediator and diplomatic hub for peace negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.

Turkey’s Minister of Energy emphasizes readiness to hold a fourth round of talks, potentially culminating in a summit of leaders in Istanbul.

The country has already facilitated three rounds of negotiations and has been actively involved in prisoner exchanges and other confidence-building measures within the framework of the Istanbul process.

Ankara advocates for diplomacy as the sole viable path to peace, asserting its independence from external pressures, including calls for a boycott of Russian oil.

Meanwhile, Russia continues to demand the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from occupied territories and the suspension of Western assistance, despite ongoing negotiations.

The United States and other Western allies demand Turkey stop importing Russian energy resources, as energy crises add further strain to the regional stability.
