Donald Trump on Talks with Xi Jinping on Ukraine: Sometimes They Need to Fight
Former U.S.
President Donald Trump, during a recent flight on Air Force One, shared his perspective on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, commenting on his negotiations with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in South Korea.
He revealed that China expressed willingness to cooperate in finding ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Trump emphasized that the parties recognized a deadlock in negotiations and suggested that, at some point, it might be necessary to let the conflict unfold naturally — ‘sometimes they need to fight.’ Despite this remark, he stated that China will assist the United States in their joint efforts regarding Ukraine.
When asked whether nuclear related issues, such as buying Russian oil, were discussed, Trump denied any such talks.
He also expressed hope that the trade agreement his administration negotiated with China will soon be signed and implemented, though he refrained from providing further details.
