Gaza Situation: TrumpAffirms Israel’s Right to Respond to Hamas Attacks

Chas Pravdy - 29 October 2025 07:23

US President Donald Trump publicly expressed his firm support for Israel’s right to retaliate against attacks by the Palestinian group Hamas.

He stated that Israel is fully justified in taking military action following an incident that reportedly resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier.

Trump emphasized that, although the exact circumstances of the soldier’s death remain unclear, it is believed to be connected to sniper fire, which warrants a response.

He reassured that this does not threaten the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, as Hamas remains a small player in the broader Middle Eastern conflict.

Reports from Gazan health authorities confirm that at least 26 civilians have died as a result of recent Israeli strikes.

These military actions were triggered by accusations against Hamas of breaching the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously announced plans to resume military strikes against Hamas positions in Gaza.

According to sources, Israel sent evidence to the White House and CIA suggesting that the search for hostages was staged to justify their actions, though U.S.

officials indicated that such measures do not violate the ceasefire regime.

Following an incident in Rafah, Israel announced the resumption of airstrikes, increasing tensions in the region amid ongoing clashes between the Israeli Defense Forces and Hamas militants.
