Following a series of aggressive assaults by Russian forces on Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, Ukraine has made a significant decision to establish a global coalition aimed at strengthening the country’s energy security.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed this during a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, stating that the international community’s combined efforts are essential to support Ukraine’s energy sector.

He announced plans to organize a video conference with representatives from the European Union and other nations to coordinate efforts in countering Russian attacks on vital infrastructure.

Zelenskyy emphasized that these attacks not only target electrical grids but also water supply systems, gas infrastructure, and logistical networks, creating severe challenges for the Ukrainian populace and economy.

The President also warned of potential new damages from further Russian strikes, which may necessitate importing electricity from the European Union to ensure reliable supply.

Today, October 28, Russian forces attacked one of the key power facilities in Chernihiv region, causing power disruptions and injuring repair crews.

This event underscores the urgent need for accelerated international action to protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and ensure its stability amid ongoing hostilities.
