Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanishyna, during a recent interview on Fox News, outlined Kyiv’s clear stance regarding the role of sanctions in international efforts to compel Russia to cease its aggression.
She noted that Russia’s current behavior is not entirely surprising but pointed out that this period presents the most favorable conditions for ending the conflict definitively.
Stefanishyna emphasized that during President Donald Trump’s trip to Asia, discussions about ending the war and achieving a just peace were critical.
According to her, Ukraine’s position is unequivocal: the country is open and transparent in supporting international efforts and possesses the necessary tools for continued military assistance.
She underlined that this is not merely about political slogans or statements but concrete actions that genuinely help Ukraine survive and prepare for future negotiations.
Furthermore, the ambassador stressed the crucial role of international support, especially sanctions, in maintaining Ukraine’s stability and sovereignty.
She believes that the war is not just a simple conflict but a brutal act of aggression by Russia against a peaceful democratic European country with a market economy.
Despite manipulations and propaganda, bombs still fall, and Ukrainian lives are still being lost.
