Ukraine Gains New Momentum in Its Fight for Independence Thanks to US and European Sanctions Against Russia

Chas Pravdy - 27 October 2025 23:22

Following the implementation of new sanctions by the United States and the European Union against Russian oil companies and key sectors of its economy, Ukraine finds itself in a more favorable position to defend its interests and strengthen its stance against Russia.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak emphasized that the stringent measures introduced in recent weeks have had a significant impact on Russia’s economy and military potential.

He highlighted that coordinated actions by the US, Europe, and other allies demonstrate their seriousness in exerting pressure on the Kremlin to halt its aggression in Ukraine.

During recent talks, including a phone conversation with President Donald Trump, discussions focused on further supporting Kyiv, including the delivery of long-range missiles and the use of frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank.

Notably, India and China are also showing trends of reducing their dependence on Russian resources, which further intensifies economic pressure on Moscow.

Additionally, efforts are underway to cease Russian oil purchases by China and other countries, significantly contributing to efforts to weaken Russia on the global stage.

Ukraine remains hopeful that these diplomatic and economic measures will accelerate peace efforts and stabilize the eastern region.

These developments give grounds for optimism that sanctions and unwavering Western support will eventually compel Russia to reconsider its aggressive policies toward Ukraine and neighboring countries.
