Dmitriyev Outlines Kremlin’s Main Conditions for Ending the War in Ukraine
Special Advisor to the Russian President, Kirill Dmitriyev, currently on an official visit to the United States, shared his stance on the prerequisites Moscow considers essential for contemplating a ceasefire in Ukraine during an interview with Fox News.
According to Dmitriyev, the foundation for any resolution rests on several critical elements that must be acknowledged to achieve sustainable peace.
Firstly, security guarantees for Ukraine are imperative to prevent further aggression.
Secondly, resolving territorial issues, particularly in regions with a predominantly Russian-speaking population, is crucial to mitigate internal tensions.
Additionally, Moscow emphasizes the importance of Ukraine’s neutrality, asserting this as vital for Russian security.
Dmitriyev added that without addressing these key aspects, a peaceful settlement remains unlikely, and their inclusion in negotiations is indispensable.
He further stated that reaching agreements on these conditions could serve as a starting point for reducing tensions and resuming diplomatic talks toward peace.
