Trump Denies WSJ Report on U.S. Authorization for Ukraine to Use Long-Range Missiles
Former U.S.
President Donald Trump vehemently denied the report published by The Wall Street Journal, which claimed that his predecessor’s administration removed restrictions enabling Ukraine to use long-range missiles.
Trump stated that the news was entirely false and firmly rejected any allegations suggesting that the United States had authorized Kyiv to deploy long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russia.
In a post on Truth Social, the former president emphasized: “The Wall Street Journal story about the supposed approval for Ukraine to use long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russia is FAKE NEWS! The U.S.
has nothing to do with these missiles—regardless of their origin or what Ukraine does with them!” This controversy arose following WSJ’s report that the Trump administration had supposedly lifted a crucial restriction on the use of long-range rockets provided by Western allies, allowing Kyiv to expand its military actions inside Russian territory.
However, these claims have been refuted, casting doubt on any future links between the U.S.
and these missiles.
