President Donald Trump will undertake a major Asian tour, during which he is scheduled to meet with top international leaders, including a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, this meeting will take place on October 30 during the visit encompassing Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea.Leavitt stated that Trump will depart Washington on Saturday evening to participate in scheduled events—specifically a meeting with Malaysia’s Prime Minister and a dinner with ASEAN leaders.
The next stop will be Tokyo, where he will hold talks with Japan’s new Prime Minister.
On Wednesday, the American leader will visit Pusan, South Korea, for a meeting with the President of the Republic of Korea.A key highlight will be the meeting with Xi Jinping on Thursday morning at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
The primary topic of discussion will be Russia’s war against Ukraine and broader security challenges.
After completing his trip, Trump will return to Washington, where he and First Lady Melania will participate in the traditional Halloween celebration at the White House, marking a festive end to his Asian tour.
