President Donald Trump recently stated his perspective on the ongoing situation in Ukraine and the potential developments of the conflict.
He pointed out that he has never claimed Ukraine is guaranteed to win the war, but he emphasizes that such a possibility still remains open.
According to Trump, anything can happen in a war, and even if the likelihood of Ukraine’s victory currently seems less probable, it cannot be completely ruled out.
He highlights that many unpredictable events occur in wartime, and all scenarios remain plausible.
Trump clarified that his remarks are not a definitive statement about Ukraine’s victory but rather about the potential for it.
He notes that in conflict situations, both positive and negative outcomes can unfold.
In September, he surprisingly expressed optimism about Ukraine’s ability to regain control over its territory within internationally recognized borders after meeting with President Zelensky.
Moreover, he stressed that Ukraine and Russia should negotiate to end the war, and he reiterated that he was not involved in initiating the conflict but believes ending the war is paramount.
Reports also surfaced indicating that Putin, during a phone call with Trump, demanded that Ukraine cede full control over Donetsk as a condition to cease hostilities.
Trump supports the idea of freezing the conflict along the current frontlines and denies having urged Ukraine to surrender all of Donetsk’s territory.
