Zelensky Appoints Commander of UAV-based Air Defense for Strengthening Ukraine’s Defense
On November 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky officially approved the appointment of Yurii Cherevashenko as the commander of UAV-based air defense systems.
This decision marks a significant step in enhancing the country’s defense strategy, especially considering the increasing role of drone technology in modern military operations.
Yurii Cherevashenko, who previously participated in establishing Ukraine’s first mobile rapid-response air defense brigade and specialized in interceptor drones, has been entrusted with scaling up this component within the complex conditions of modern warfare.
The presidential decree emphasizes active deployment of cutting-edge UAV systems, including attack and interceptor drones, as well as strengthening air defense with advanced weaponry, substantially boosting Ukraine’s ability to defend its skies from aggression.
