Ukrainian Drones Attack Enemy Targets Over 100 km Away on Zaporizhzhia Frontline
On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle operators are executing highly precise strikes against enemy targets at astonishing distances exceeding 100 kilometers.
These successes were detailed by the commander of the 422nd Separate Drone Battalion ‘Luftwaffe’, known by the call sign ‘Tyson’, during an interview broadcasted on Army TV.
According to him, his unit not only detects enemy drone launch points but also destroys them with high precision, which significantly hampers the enemy’s logistics and operational capabilities deep in their rear.
The battalion reportedly eliminates up to five radar stations (RCS) weekly, damaging critical logistical objects such as warehouses and transport routes, thereby disrupting enemy supply chains and making successful offensives more difficult.
Commander Tyson emphasized that Ukrainian drones operate into the enemy’s depths, conducting calibrated strikes on logistical targets.
“We do everything to make it easier for our troops to hold positions; we are expanding the ‘kill zone’ to prevent enemy assaults.
About a week ago, the enemy attempted to storm our positions using armored vehicles, but we destroyed them at their approach,” he said.
The ongoing drone operations continue to create a tense environment, with Russian forces attempting to advance towards the regional center of Zaporizhzhia.
Ukrainian military officials report ongoing efforts to target power substations in Melitopol and Berdyansk at distances around 100 km, aiming to weaken enemy reconnaissance and attack capabilities by disabling key energy infrastructure.
Military expert Stanislav ‘Osman’ Bunyatov highlighted that this energy-focused warfare requires significant resources, as destroying power facilities hampers enemy intelligence and combat operations.
Maintaining power outages in critical infrastructure limits the Russian forces’ ability to conduct active reconnaissance and movement.
Meanwhile, analyst Vladyslav Seleznev pointed out that at the crossroads of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, Russian troops are demonstrating the highest rates of territorial advances — despite only 13% of assaults occurring in the eastern part of the region, Russia has gained 40% of the territory there over the past week.
This ongoing escalation underscores the fluid military situation and the importance of coordinated defense efforts by Ukraine.
