Estonian Military Warns of New Massive Russian Attacks on Ukraine’s Infrastructure
According to Estonian intelligence, Russia is likely to resume large-scale airstrikes targeting critical infrastructure in Ukraine within the coming weeks.
The head of the Estonian Defence Forces Intelligence Center, Colonel Ants Kivisell, revealed that the enemy is actively preparing for new assaults on Ukraine’s civilian and energy sectors.
He noted that last week’s weather conditions did not alter the battlefield situation, and Russian troops continue to operate aggressively, attempting to advance.
However, he emphasized that Russia is struggling to leverage its human resources effectively, and the shift from ‘significant and planned’ operations to ‘routine and monotonous’ tasks has resulted in heavy casualties.
The analyst indicated that the frontline remains relatively stable, with minor tactical movements around Pokrovsk, which has become a symbolic target for Moscow.
Russia is exerting considerable effort to capture this strategic settlement, viewing it as a key victory goal.
Nevertheless, experts believe that the chances of success are slim due to limited resources and Ukrainian resistance.
Meanwhile, Russia continues its attacks across various regions—using not only missiles and drones but also concentrated strikes on frontline areas, especially near Kherson, where targeted assaults on civilians have increased.
Statistics show that missile use in October has significantly risen by 44% compared to September, reaching record levels during the war.
Adverse weather last week also hampered Ukraine’s air defense, but it remains effective, destroying roughly 80% of incoming enemy threats before they reach their targets.
The coming weeks are expected to bring new waves of massive attacks, possibly in three or four phases, severely impacting Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
Estonian experts warn that with winter approaching, Russia may intensify its campaign, aiming to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine’s energy system using its substantial resources.
There is a likelihood that multiple large-scale missile attacks will occur in November.
