Hostile Operations in Chasiv Yar: A New Phase of Russian Assaults
Chasiv Yar, situated in the Donetsk region, remains a focal point of fierce combat, holding strategic importance for both sides of the ongoing conflict.
According to Ukrainian defenders, Russian forces have established a significant staging area for assault groups within the city, along with tactical command points that facilitate the coordination of offensive operations in the region.
Ukrainian Army spokesperson Dmitro Zaporozhets stated that not only local infantry units are active on the front but also their efforts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the directions of Novomarkovo and Markovo.
As of the evening of November 5, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled an attack by 17 Russian soldiers amid thick fog, destroying 15 of the invaders.
Zaporozhets emphasized that despite worsening weather conditions, Russian troops continue their offensive actions, with ample resources to sustain further attacks.
Military analysts warn that if Russia gains full control of the city, it could advance further north toward Konstantinivka, thereby threatening critical strategic points.
