Train services to Donetsk region temporarily restricted due to security concerns
Amid escalating security risks and a cautious approach to the ongoing situation in Donetsk region, Ukraine Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) has announced a temporary suspension of long-distance train services to Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
This decision was made at the request of the local military administration to ensure passenger and staff safety.
Trains on this route will now stop only at Husarivka or Barvinkove stations, serving as a compromise to reduce risks while maintaining connectivity to areas still under control.
Passengers affected by these changes will receive updated final destination notifications directly on their mobile app on the day of departure.
To facilitate travelers, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration is organizing shuttle buses connecting Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and the temporary terminal stations.
Railway staff and conductors will assist passengers with transfers and navigation.
The temporary restrictions also affect suburban trains in the region, specifically the Bantiševe — Kramatorsk and Sloviansk — Rayhorodok routes.
Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that passenger safety remains their top priority, and they will resume train operations as soon as the security situation improves, reassuring travelers of their commitment to restoring full service at the earliest opportunity.
