Angelina Jolie’s Secret Visit to Ukraine: Incident at the Border and Visit to Kherson
Renowned actress and UNHCR goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie did not notify Ukrainian authorities about her visit to the country.
She crossed the Ukrainian border on foot, causing confusion and concern among military personnel and officials, as the trip was conducted without prior notice.
According to a Ukrainian high-ranking official, citing sources within security agencies, an incident occurred involving one of Jolie’s team members and representatives of the local Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TЦК).
Investigations are currently ongoing to clarify the circumstances of this event.
It is believed that during the border control process, a conflict situation arose, which is now under scrutiny.
On that Tuesday, the actress visited Kherson, where she met with local residents and carried out humanitarian activities.
This was her second visit to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022; she previously visited Lviv, meeting with Ukrainian volunteers and soldiers.
Media reports indicate that Jolie’s security guard was detained by employees of the territorial recruitment center and reportedly taken to the Mykolaiv TЦК.
The center confirmed the incident, stating that Jolie’s driver was a reserve serviceman who was ordered to attend military re-training.
