Ukrainian forces target and damage Russian oil refinery in Nizhny Novgorod region

On the night of November 4, Ukrainian military units, intelligence agencies, and special operations forces conducted a precise and impactful attack on a major asset within Russia’s oil and gas industry — the Lukoil Nizhny Novgorod Petroleum Refinery located in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

According to sources, the operation involved over fifty Ukrainian-made drones, including models like ‘Bober’ and FP-1, operated by experienced pilots.

The strike aimed at damaging critical infrastructure responsible for oil processing and storage.

As a result of the attack, fires erupted in the town of Kstovo; videos captured vivid explosions and smoke clouds over the plant.

The targeted facility is the Reformatory Column, which handles primary oil processing and had previously suffered damage during earlier strikes.

This strategic target is one of Russia’s largest refineries, with an annual capacity of approximately 17 million tons of crude oil processing and producing more than fifty types of products, including automotive, aviation, and diesel fuels, as well as bitumen and paraffin.

Notably, the refinery’s outputs are actively used by Russian occupiers, especially for military purposes and weapon manufacturing.

The operation reaffirmed the effectiveness of Ukrainian drones and military tactics aimed at infrastructure sabotage, significantly impairing Russia’s energy processing capabilities and strengthening Ukraine’s efforts to destabilize its enemy’s logistical and industrial capacities.
