Russia Reports Massive UAV Attack and Fire in Volgograd Region
On the night of November 4, the Russian authorities announced a large-scale UAV (drone) attack on the Volgograd region, accompanied by a fire at the ‘Frolovskaya’ electrical substation.
According to the regional governor, Andrey Bocharov, anti-aircraft units of the Russian Defence Ministry had to defend against a mass attack of drones attempting to breach the region’s airspace.
Bocharov stated that during the incident, a fire broke out at the ‘Frolovskaya’ substation, supposedly caused by falling debris from the UAVs.
This is not the first drone attack in the region; on October 9, 2023, unmanned aerial vehicles targeted the ‘LUKOIL-Korobkovsky’ gas processing plant in the city of Kotovo, causing fires on the plant’s premises.
These reports highlight ongoing tensions and emerging security challenges amid the broader Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
