Current Situation in Pokrovsk: Ukrainian Defenders’ Brave Efforts to Hold the Town Amid Shelling
Today, in the region of Pokrovsk, located in the Ukrainian-controlled part of Donetsk Oblast, intense fighting and high danger levels persist, posing major challenges for Ukrainian defenders.
Ukrainian military officers highlight that access to the city remains extremely hazardous due to round-the-clock shelling by Russian forces along the crucial transportation route connecting Pokrovsk to other regions.
This route is strategically vital as Pokrovsk is one of the key railway and transport hubs in the area.
Military experts emphasize the exceptional bravery and resilience of soldiers risking their lives to keep the city operational, ensuring the delivery of food, water, warm clothing, and charging stations despite constant attacks and drone reconnaissance and strike operations by the enemy.
Officer ‘Gera’ from the 25th Air Assault Brigade notes that the occupiers have a well-developed drone infrastructure, conducting continuous surveillance and pinpoint strikes, complicating Ukrainian defense efforts.
Meanwhile, experts warn that Ukrainian forces may soon be compelled to withdraw from the strategically significant Mrynograd, while Pokrovsk remains under siege thanks to the heroism of its defenders.
The situation remains tense as enemy drone activity intensifies, creating chaos in logistics and military formations.
The upcoming battles are expected for Kostiantynivka, with analysts warning of possible provocations orchestrated by Russia in this region.
Military leaders stress the need to fortify positions near the city to prevent further threats.
As Ukrainian forces consider withdrawing from ‘the pocket’ and establishing robust defenses outside the city, their goal is to reduce risks for civilians and secure key transport nodes amidst ongoing hostilities.
