Unexpected Effects of Attacks on Russian Oil Refineries: Why the Russian Army Does Not Feel the Change

Chas Pravdy - 03 November 2025 15:31

Ukraine has been conducting targeted strikes on Russian oil refining facilities for several months.

Although official data indicate a 18% reduction in the production of various fuels, these changes seem to have little impact on the combat capability of Russian forces at the front.

Aviation expert Konstantin Krivolap, appearing on Kyiv24, explains that the enemy on the battlefield hardly perceives the results of these attacks because fuel supplies to occupation troops are prioritized, ensuring that their machinery and ammunition needs are met.

While strikes on refineries significantly affect the civilian sector and logistics inside Russia, they have yet to influence the operational capacities of the military.According to the expert, the Russian population and intercity transportation are already feeling the long-term consequences of this strategic campaign.

Such strikes exert pressure on internal logistics and energy supplies, which could lead to more severe repercussions over time.

Military analysts note that Russian forces remain in a state of readiness, with sufficient fuel reserves for prolonged operations.

Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to leverage drone tactics as an effective form of economic warfare, transforming this new strategy into a crucial tool that complicates logistics for the occupiers and enhances the effectiveness of Ukrainian operations.
