Critical Situation in Pokrovsk: Russian Sabotage Groups Disrupt Ukraine’s Defense
In the northeastern region of Ukraine, the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk oblast remains under severe strain and is facing a critical security situation.
Recent reports indicate extensive infiltration by Russian sabotage-reconnaissance groups that are sowing chaos within the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defenses and logistical networks.
Vyacheslav «Lyutiy», commander of the shock drone battalion «Shersni Dovbusha» of the 68th separate ranger brigade, shared an exclusive commentary with «Espresso», highlighting the intense situation on the ground.
He emphasized that Ukrainian troops are actively working to eliminate these groups and must respond swiftly to their movements to prevent further destabilization.
According to him, Russian saboteurs are adapting by camouflaging, avoiding direct firefights, and moving chaotically through Pokrovsk, complicating efforts to detect and neutralize them.
Military experts point out that the large number of enemy personnel in the town poses a significant threat to regional stability.
Former commander of the mechanized company of the 47th brigade, Mykola Melnyk, called for the Ukrainian forces to step back from the «fishbowl» situation and establish strong defensive lines beyond Pokrovsk.
An analytical military assessment warns that Russia is preparing multiple provocations in the city, which could escalate tensions further.
Volunteer Sergey Stenenko stated that the route leading to Pokrovsk is currently under full control of occupying forces, emphasizing the difficulty Ukrainian defenders face in securing the area.
Officials and military analysts stress the urgent need for coordinated and rapid action to contain the threat and maintain control over the situation.
