Tragedy Near Ivano-Frankivsk: Judge in Lexus Kills Pedestrians, One Dies
On the evening of October 31, a tragic road accident shocked the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and drew the attention of law enforcement agencies.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, a judge driving a luxury Lexus collided with two pedestrians who were crossing at a crosswalk.
Sadly, one of the pedestrians — a man — died instantly at the scene, while the other sustained minor injuries.
Police and investigators arrived at the scene immediately, conducting an inspection, collecting the vehicle and other evidence.
As part of the investigation, blood samples were taken from the judge for toxicology tests.
Authorities have opened a criminal case under the article related to violation of traffic safety rules, and the judge has been formally charged.
She faces up to eight years in prison.
A petition has also been submitted to the High Council of Justice to authorize her detention.
This incident is not isolated; earlier, in Lviv region, a fatal accident occurred involving military personnel, resulting in the death of four soldiers after a Nissan vehicle lost control and collided with a stationary truck.
