Russian Forces Advance in Pokrovsk and Surroundings in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia Regions: New Tactical Gains and Threats to Ukrainian Territories

Chas Pravdy - 02 November 2025 14:28

The Russian armed forces continue their active offensive operations across several regions of Ukraine, including Pokrovsk in Donetsk, Kharkiv region, and Zaporizhzhia.

Over the past day, significant breakthroughs have occurred, indicating escalation of hostilities and increased Russian control over strategically important settlements.

In Pokrovsk, where the situation is currently extremely tense, Russian occupiers have intensified their presence, advancing directly into the city center and capturing several key districts nearby.

Additionally, along the Kam’yanka-Kupiansk line and around the village of Novogrygorivka on the Oleksandrivka direction, the Russians have extended their gains, according to analysts from DeepState.

The operational map of hostilities as of November 2 at 14:11 shows heightened activity by Russian forces in these regions, especially on the northern outskirts of Pokrovsk, where infantry units are concentrated.

This complicates the Ukrainian military’s efforts to mount an effective defense.

Reports also indicate that Ukrainian forces carried out a surprise parachute landing in the area, which could significantly shift the front line balance. At the same time, volunteer Serhiy Sternenko highlighted serious logistical issues in Pokrovsk, pointing out the lack of proper logistics for transport, which hampers supplies and reinforcements for Ukrainian units.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the capture of this strategic city by mid-November, demonstrating Moscow’s determination to deepen control over the region and ramp up pressure on Ukrainian defenders.
