Mysterious Drones Monitor Military Assets and Bases Across Europe
Recently, Belgium reported sightings of unknown drones deliberately surveilling military facilities and combat aircraft.
Defense Minister Theo Francken revealed that these unmanned aerial vehicles were detected over key military bases during the weekend.
According to him, their purpose is to gather strategic intelligence: the locations of F-16 fighters, ammunition depots, and other vital military sites.
Investigations are underway to determine the origins and motivations behind these vigilant drones, especially over the Klein Brogel base, a critical defense point housing nuclear-capable fighters and future F-35 aircraft.
The minister also noted that Russian special operations involving drone espionage are expanding into other European countries.
Instances of interception have occurred in Romania, Poland, Denmark, Norway, and Germany.
The latest news includes the shooting down of an unidentified drone in southern Estonia near the Reedo military town, raising concerns about the growing geographical reach of such technological surveillance.
