Updated Situation in Pokrovsk: Fighting Continues Without Encirclement or Blockade
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, publicly clarified the ongoing military operations in Pokrovsk and surrounding areas in Donetsk Region.
He emphasized that reports of the city being encircled or blockaded are unfounded, as Ukrainian forces maintain active presence and conduct a comprehensive operation aimed at destroying and pushing back enemy forces.
Syrskyi stated that in Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, Ukrainian troops are fighting against a large enemy group attempting to infiltrate residential areas and cut off logistical routes.
He highlighted the absence of encirclement and assured that efforts are focused on ensuring continuous supply and logistical support.
Various units are involved, including Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), and other defense units.
The general pointed out that the enemy is paying a high price for attempting to fulfill Kremlin’s orders to occupy Ukrainian Donbas.
Ukrainian forces continue to liberate and clear territories on the Dobropillia promontory.
Syrskyi stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among units and the use of modern weapons, including UAVs and new military equipment.
He concluded that the situation is firmly under control and that Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding their positions, calling for continued unity and efficient cooperation among all defense structures to effectively counter occupation threats.
