Ukrainian special forces strike Moscow region oil pipeline, escalating pressure on Russia
On October 31, Ukrainian intelligence services executed a daring and precise operation within Russian territory, resulting in the destruction of three crucial lines of the ‘Ring’ oil pipeline in the Moscow region.
This sabotage action marked another demonstration of Ukraine’s ability to operate deep behind enemy lines, undermining Russia’s logistical resources and military capacity.
The operation led to the disabling of the pipeline, a vital link in the supply chain for Russian military and oil refining facilities.
According to the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), attempts to defend the target with anti-drone nets and reinforced security measures were unsuccessful — all three lines transporting gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel exploded simultaneously and successfully.
This attack inflicted significant material damage on Russia and dealt a severe blow to its military and economic infrastructure in the Moscow region.
GUR head Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov emphasized that these strikes caused more damage to Russia than international sanctions.
The ‘Ring’ pipeline is 400 kilometers long and supplies over three million tons of aviation fuel, as well as diesel and gasoline, from refineries in Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, and Moscow.
The operation underscores Ukraine’s ability to impact key logistical assets of the aggressor country.
