Ukraine’s Territories Occupied in October: New Data from DeepState Analysts
According to the analytical center DeepState, Russian occupation troops continued their advances into Ukrainian territory in October, capturing an additional 267 square kilometers.
While the pace of the offensive remained consistent with September, the total occupied area reached nearly 19.09% of Ukraine’s entire landmass.
This means that nearly one-sixth of Ukraine’s territory is under Russian control.
Such levels of occupation have raised concerns among Ukrainian authorities and the international community.Analysts also reported that the number of assault operations by the Russian army increased by 2.3% in October, indicating heightened combat activity by occupiers.
The hottest conflict zones continue to be around Novopavlivka-Gulyaipole, where fierce fighting persists.
Here, over 69% of occupied territory is concentrated, along with 16% of all Russian assault efforts.
Fighting remains intense in the Pokrovsk direction, with assault activity sustaining high levels, while in the Liman sector, the number of attacks decreased slightly.Furthermore, Russian forces have intensified their assaults near Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region as well as along the stretch from Kozacha Lopan to Dvorichna in Kharkiv region.
Recent reports also indicate the occupation of Novogrigorivka in Zaporizhzhia, adding tension to the region.
The coming weeks are critical for the fate of Kupiansk, which is a strategic point.
Heavy fighting continues in Pokrovsk, where Ukrainian special forces have launched a parachute operation to halt the enemy’s advance and retake occupied areas.
