Russia Imposes New Sanctions Against Ukrainian Officials Amid Escalation

Chas Pravdy - 01 November 2025 23:14

In response to European economic restrictions and as part of the ongoing escalation between Russia and Ukraine, Moscow announced the implementation of new sanctions targeting high-ranking Ukrainian government officials.

Included in the sanctions list are Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko, Minister of Economy Oleksii Sobolev, as well as former Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

According to Russian sources, these measures are a counteraction to Ukrainian government policies and aim to increase pressure amid the prolonged conflict.

This move represents another step in the escalation, which has been ongoing for several years, raising concerns within the international community about potential regional security and stability issues in Eastern Europe.
