Former Dynamo footballer openly discusses controversial and awkward club departure
The former player of Kyiv’s Dynamo and current Polissya footballer Oleksandr Andriievskyi shared detailed insights into his conflict-ridden and scandalous departure from one of Ukraine’s most decorated clubs.
According to him, during negotiations with Dynamo’s management, they offered him «some money», which he did not agree to.
Andriievskyi emphasizes, «I still had six months left on my contract, and I stated that no one would pay me, and I had no concrete options for continuing my career».
They insisted, «No, no, this won’t do.
Let’s give some money».
He responded, «Alright, then I’ll sit until summer and leave for free, without signing any documents».
Subsequently, he was handed papers to terminate his contract, and he left Dynamo.
A product of the club’s youth system, Andriievskyi terminated his contract by mutual agreement in January 2025 and joined Polissya.
Throughout his career, he has also played for Metalist Kharkiv, Chornomorets Odesa, and Zorya Luhansk.
Furthermore, reports earlier revealed that top English clubs are showing interest in the Ukrainian talent from Dynamo.
Meanwhile, this conflict highlights ongoing tensions within Ukrainian football and reflects the difficulties players face during transfers or career interruptions caused by internal disputes.
