DAM ESCALATION IN RUSSIA REDUCES ENEMY CROSSINGS IN KHARKIV REGION

Chas Pravdy - 01 November 2025 00:42

A recent strategic incident on the southern Slobozhansky направлении significantly impacted the ongoing hostilities.

The dam explosion in the Russian-held area near the region caused a sharp rise in water levels in the Vovcha and Siversky Donets rivers.

This natural barrier increased difficulties for Russian troops attempting to cross these waterways on the Kharkiv front, rendering amphibious maneuvers much more challenging.

According to Ruslana Bohdan, head of communications at the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kosti Gordiienko, the enemy continues to conduct assault operations mainly through small infantry groups, avoiding large-scale mechanized attacks since summer.

Regular infantry assaults often end with Ukrainian forces capturing prisoners.

Bohdan emphasizes that the attacking contingent remains unchanged.

She noted that increased water levels have helped restore the water balance in previously shallow rivers, which were facilitating enemy crossings, thus complicating the enemy’s movement and working to the advantage of Ukrainian defenders.

The military also employs tactical measures, utilizing terrain and technical means to counter the enemy more effectively.

Meanwhile, Russian command has begun forming assault companies composed of women within the 506th Motorized Rifle Regiment, as reported by the partisan movement «Atesh», to compensate for catastrophic losses among mercenaries and contract soldiers.
