International circles are witnessing a new phase of military integration between the United States and the Philippines.

The Pentagon officially announced the creation of a joint operational group aimed at bolstering military cooperation and raising combat readiness in the region, particularly in the South China Sea.

This decision was made during a defense ministers’ meeting between the two countries at the ASEAN gathering in Kuala Lumpur, marking a new chapter of alliance military collaboration.

US and Philippine defense officials described this step as crucial for joint efforts in the unstable waters of the region, with a focus on strengthening operational coordination, improving joint planning, and increasing mutual military compatibility.

Their main concern remains China’s activities in contested waters, especially around Taiwan and the South China Sea, which heighten regional and global tensions.

In light of this situation, the US and the Philippines announced plans to accelerate the modernization of their defense partnership, aiming to complete key projects within the next two years.

Experts highlight that NATO and allied forces seek to solidify their presence in Southeast Asia to counter China’s ambitions and prevent regional instability.

With increasing tensions and China’s active military campaigns, the Pentagon and the Philippine Department of Defense are working together to ensure security, stability, and peaceful conflict resolution in the region, calling for new levels of cooperation in defense technologies and security measures.
