Former “Ukrenergo” Head Volodymyr Kudrytskyi Calls His Case a ‘Political Ordeal’
The former head of the national energy company “Ukrenergo,” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, sharply criticized the criminal case initiated against him, calling it a clear political persecution.
According to him, the case appears to be poorly planned and executed with evident political motives.
In his Facebook posts, he stated that the bail was paid for him by numerous friends and partners, as his family was unable to afford such an amount.
He also mentioned that he is returning to work on building new power plants to improve Ukraine’s energy system.Kudrytskyi emphasized that all these proceedings are part of political games aimed at demonstrating what happens to those who dare criticize the authorities.
He claims he is being accused because he defended the interests of his company, recovering advances and penalties from a contractor who failed to fulfill obligations in 2018.
This, he says, is meant to serve as a warning to others.Recall that on October 28, the State Bureau of Investigation detained Kudrytskyi in Lviv.
The following day, Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court set his bail at nearly 14 million hryvnias, and he will remain under detention until December 26, 2025.
He is suspected of abuse of power and embezzlement of state funds during the 2018 energy reconstruction tenders.
On the evening of October 30, Kudrytskyi’s wife, Oleksandra Yastremyska, announced that he had been released from detention, thanking everyone who helped to raise funds for his bail.
