New Developments in Louvre Jewelry Heist: Arrests Increase to Seven

Chas Pravdy - 30 October 2025 11:35

French law enforcement authorities have confirmed new details in the high-profile theft of invaluable jewelry from the Galerie d’Apollon at the Louvre.

According to recent updates, seven individuals have now been detained in connection with the mysterious robbery that occurred on October 19.

Paris Prosecutor Lor Bekkyu reported that on the evening of October 29, five suspects were apprehended in the metropolitan region.

One of them is believed to have been directly involved in the crime, while the other four are thought to possess significant information about how the events unfolded.

The authorities have so far failed to recover eight of the stolen precious ornaments, which has heightened public concern.

Despite ongoing investigations conducted by roughly a hundred police officers, including specialists from Germany and INTERPOL, the whereabouts of the missing valuables remain unknown.

Experts speculate that some of these artifacts may have been plundered for their gemstones or melted down for resale.

The theft, which triggered widespread scandal, remains unresolved, and despite efforts, the stolen items have yet to be recovered or identified.

The investigation continues as law enforcement officials press to locate and restore the missing jewelry pieces, which hold significant cultural and monetary value.
