Escalation of Shellings in Zaporizhzhia: Increasing Casualties and Massive Rescue Operations
In the city of Zaporizhzhia, the situation following Russian shelling has sharply worsened, according to local authorities and emergency services reports.
The number of casualties from the nighttime attack on October 30 has tripled compared to previous figures, with over 13 individuals wounded so far.
Most of the victims are residents of Zaporizhzhia seeking medical aid.
Particularly vulnerable are children, among whom at least five minors are reported injured.
Rescue operations are ongoing, involving trained search and rescue teams and psychologists working with all those affected.
Several locations are still under search, with rescue dogs employed to locate people under the rubble.
Fires caused by the strikes are also being extinguished.
The shelling resulted in the destruction of several floors of a dormitory, and damage to regional energy infrastructure, leading to widespread power outages across Ukraine, initially with emergency blackouts and later scheduled power cuts.
Authorities and emergency services continue working tirelessly to stabilize the situation and restore normal life.
