On Wednesday, October 29, the city of Chernihiv and its surrounding regions came under the again attack of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), conducting a large-scale strike on the region’s transportation and energy infrastructures.

Russian drones penetrated the defenses and caused damage to targets in the city center and nearby areas.

In Korukivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi districts, explosions led to fires and structural damages to several buildings.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the destruction was significant. In Korukivka district, the site of the strike caught fire, which was quickly localized by firefighters.

Several residential buildings suffered broken windows and roof damages.

Similar damages were reported in Novhorod-Siverskyi district, where dozens of windows were shattered and roofs were partly destroyed.

Two days earlier, occupying forces damaged a key energy supply facility in Korukivka district, leaving tens of thousands of residents without electricity.

Subsequently, Russian forces conducted another drone strike on utility workers, resulting in extensive damage to service vehicles, including significant destruction of specialized transport used in the energy sector.Ukrainian military and security services are reinforcing defenses of critical infrastructure, but the threat of new attacks remains high.

Local residents are calling for caution and preparedness for possible further provocations, while authorities are urged to strengthen defensive measures to ensure safety and stability in the region.
