Israeli military ordered to strike Gaza with immediate and powerful attacks in response to ceasefire violations
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday issued a direct order to the armed forces to carry out immediate and highly forceful strikes on the Gaza Strip, marking a new escalation in the ongoing conflict.
According to reports from CNN and The Times of Israel, the decision was announced in a brief official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, which emphasized that the move was made following security consultations.
The statement highlighted that after these consultations, Netanyahu authorized the military to deploy maximum force against Gaza, seemingly in response to recent violations of the ceasefire agreement, including the refusal to return bodies of hostages and recent attacks on Israeli troops.
The Hamas armed wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that it would delay the transfer of a hostage’s body found Tuesday in southern Gaza, citing “violations” on Israel’s part.
An Israeli military official told CNN that Hamas forces attacked IDF troops positioned in a zone east of the so-called “Yellow Line” — the demarcation line marking Israel’s withdrawal point from Gaza according to the ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States.
This development raises fears of further escalation.
It is noteworthy that U.S.
President Donald Trump unveiled a comprehensive plan for ceasing hostilities in Gaza on September 29, demanding that Hamas agree to the plan by the end of the week, warning of “hell” if they do not.
Hamas responded, expressing readiness to free all hostages to establish lasting peace, while Trump called on Israel to immediately cease bombing Gaza, stating that Hamas militants are willing to work toward peace in the Middle East.
