Chas Pravdy - 27 October 2025 11:26

In recent days, Polish authorities made a significant arrest of two Ukrainian citizens suspected of working for foreign intelligence services and carrying out espionage activities against Poland.

According to the spokesperson of the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, Y propel Jaszek Dobzhansky, a 34-year-old Ukrainian woman and a 32-year-old Ukrainian man were detained in different locations across Poland on charges of collecting reconnaissance data and monitoring critical infrastructure.

Official reports suggest that the suspects specialized in observing Poland’s military potential, installing cameras on key routes used for transporting weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, and gathering intelligence about Polish soldiers and essential infrastructure.

Facing charges of espionage, they could face up to eight years in prison; both are currently held in custody, with a trial expected to last three months.

This is not the first case of detention related to espionage activities involving Ukrainians in Poland.

Previously, a Ukrainian individual was detained on drug charges but was later suspected of collaborating with Russia.

Meanwhile, in Romania, authorities detained two Ukrainians who allegedly worked on orders from Russia to set fire to the headquarters of Nova Poshta in Bucharest.
