Russian Drones Strike Zaporizhzhia Region: Damage and Response

Chas Pravdy - 27 October 2025 03:21

On the night of October 26-27, Russian drones launched multiple attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district, causing significant destruction and temporary power outages affecting over 1,700 residents.

According to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the enemy conducted at least five drone strikes aimed at hitting critical energy infrastructure.

As a result, more than 1,700 subscribers lost electricity, and local energy companies have already begun repair works as soon as the security situation permits.

The strikes resulted in substantial damage to private homes, utility buildings, sports facilities, and multi-story residential buildings, with no casualties reported so far.

The air raid alarm lasted over four and a half hours—from 7:30 PM on October 26 to 12:07 AM on October 27—with Ukrainian Air Forces repeatedly warning of drone and missile launches toward the region.

At 12:47 AM, a new alarm was declared due to a potential threat of ballistic missile use from the south, escalating regional tensions.

Additionally, on October 26, Russian forces dropped drones on the village of Rivnopillya, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old man and a concussion for another local resident.

These events highlight the ongoing brutal tactics of Russian aggression against Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure, deepening the crisis in the region.
