Massive Russian Attack in Dobropillia Thwarted by Ukrainian Defenders
During intense combat operations, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled a large-scale offensive by Russian troops in the Dobropillia area, which lasted over six hours.
On October 27, Russian forces launched a massive mechanized assault aimed at capturing strategic settlements of Shakheve and Volodymyrivka.
According to the first corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, the enemy deployed a total of 29 armored vehicles, making this operation one of the largest recent attempts.
Special emphasis was placed on increasing the number of tanks, but the enemy tried to complicate Ukrainian defenders’ actions by sending small groups of equipment — 4 to 5 units — via different routes at different times, hoping to hinder drone operations.
Despite these efforts and adverse weather conditions that posed additional challenges for UAVs, Ukrainian units effectively countered the attack through comprehensive engineering obstacles, meticulous mine-laying, and coordinated actions of artillery brigades and drone crews.
As a result, the enemy suffered significant losses, including 2 tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, and one car.
Moreover, infantry landing from vehicles was targeted and destroyed by FPV drones.
The ongoing clearance operations continue at the landing sites of enemy infantry.
These actions highlight the high level of organization and combat skill of Ukrainian defenders, successfully repelling the assault and minimizing damages to strategic positions.
