Vilnius Airport Closes Again Due to Mysterious Unidentified Flying Object: New Incident in Lithuanian Aviation
Vilnius Airport in Lithuania has once again made headlines following a sudden and concerning event that raises questions about the safety of the country’s airspace.
According to reports from media and official sources, the airport was temporarily closed due to the appearance of an unidentified flying object (UFO) overhead.
This marks the second closure within a month, highlighting increasing regional tensions and instability.
Journalists have noted that flights, including those operated by Finnair, were canceled, leaving passengers in difficult circumstances.
Official statements reveal that the pilot announced the shutdown due to repeated incursion of meteorological zones into Lithuanian airspace.
As a result, over 68 passengers and several crew members had to return to the terminal.
The closure is expected to last until 1:40 a.m., causing significant delays and cancellations.
This is not an isolated incident this month, with several airspace disturbances caused by meteorological balloons in Lithuania already recorded.
It is also noteworthy that on October 23, Lithuanian military aviation recorded a breach of national borders when Russian Su-30 fighters and an Ilyushin Il-78 tanker aircraft entered Lithuanian airspace for about 18 seconds, penetrating approximately 700 meters into territory, raising regional security concerns.
